If you have ever washed your face or showered wearing your contact lenses, please read this post
First, you should never shower while wearing contact lenses.
A protozoan called 'Acanthamoeba' thrives in the water supply.
Acanthamoeba is difficult to get into the eye with a normal cornea, but it adheres well to the lens surface or damaged cornea, causing inflammation.
This is called ‘Acanthamoeba keratitis.’ Acanthamoeba keratitis can lead to a number of serious eye conditions, including corneal ulcers and perforations.
Wearing your contact lenses the right way is just as important as keeping them clean.
Be sure to remove your contact lenses before washing your face.
